After several years as a professional and volunteer event planner for non-profits, it came time for me to plan my own wedding in the autumn of 2008. I fell in love with the process of personalizing such a momentous event, and have since developed my event planning and design business.
At an early age, I found an appreciation for the nature-centered, eco-minded and artistic-spirit of Delicate Creature. My father, a miner and forager, introduced me to the world of gems and minerals, and instilled a sense of awe for the vibrant colors and healing powers of the natural world. My mother, a wedding planner, seamstress and diva homemaker, cultivated my passion for design, and taught me the personalized touch of hand-crafted goods.
Moving away from my homeland, my setting changed from the Colorado foothills to the urban towers of Chicago where I became immersed in art and design courses. Learning letterpress, calligraphy, and floral arrangement nurtured my creativity while allowing a hands-on understanding of the finer details of event construction. From these experiences, I understand and appreciate how color palettes and branding can unify an event design while creating impact on a budget.
It is exhilarating to witness the joy of hosts and their guests as they experience the beauty of the venue, decor and uniquely personalized details of an event. My goal is to help my clients feel empowered to be part of the planning process by partnering to bring their creativity from vision to reality.
